Teams will be comprised of 2 or 4 players. Two winners each week. Gross winner – Team with the best outright score. Net winner – Team with best score net of their handicaps. Gross winners can not also win net. If the gross winning team is also the net winning team, net winner will be awarded to second place team (unless ties are involved). Formats will be variations of best ball (scramble) and shambles. Best Ball: Select the best ball from your team after every shot. Everyone shoots from that spot until hole is finished. Shamble: Select the best tee shot from your team. Each player plays their own ball for the remainder of the hole from that tee shot. The best individual score is your team score. Make sure to track each players individual score on your scorecard! Stableford: Best ball format. Rather than counting strokes, it uses a point system where the goal is to have the most points. Albatross: 10 points Eagle: 6 points Birdie: 3 points Par: 1 point Bogey: 0 points Double Bogey or worse: -2 points Sit Out Scramble: 4-person best ball format.  Can not use the same players ball two shots in a row. Resets at the start of each hole. Best 2 of 4 Shamble: 4-person shamble format. Select the best two scores out of your foursome and add them together to make your team score (e.g. 3+4=7) Red Tees: 2-person shamble from the red tees. Any hole: 2-person shamble. All hole covers will be removed. Players can use any hole they choose.     Weekly Payouts $10 entry fee will be split between gross and net winner, and year end Tombstone pot. $5 to gross. $3 to net. $2 to Tombstone pot.    Skins Game (optional) $10 optional per player – all players on each team must enter skins. Team with the lowest score on a hole wins that skin. Lowest score must be outright, ties are carried over. Only teams who opt into skins are competing against each other. Skins payments are based off total skins pot divided by number of skins won.   Season Long Individual Champion Points will be awarded to gross, net, and skin winners.   Points will be tracked by individual players for a season long champion Points awarded: 5 points per player for gross winning team. 3 points per player for net winning team. 1 point per player for every skin won. Handicaps Every Hay River Golf Club member can register through the course to sign up for a Golf Canada membership to get an official handicap. How Golf Canada works: You will need to create an account using your membership number. Enter individual stroke play scores using the Golf Canada app or website. Golf Canada will calculate your 18 hole handicap for you. New Golf Genius software used for men’s league will be linked to your Golf Canada membership number so your handicap will be up to date. For the first few weeks of men’s league we will use an estimated handicap for players until they have gotten their official Golf Canada handicap. After the allotted time, if players do not get their handicap set up through Golf Canada, they will be required to play as a 0 handicap until they do so.   Results Weekly results can be found on the Golf Genius Men’s League Portal. Link to the portal to view leaderboard, winners, and standings will be sent out at the end of each men's league week. You can also access the portal on this page by clicking on 'More Info' and then looking under the 'Results' tab. In the results tab go to Weekly Results for leaderboard and winners and Player League Standings for season long individual standings.   Year Tombstone Tournament The Saturday after the final men's league there will be an 18 hole Tombstone Tournament. Tombstone rules: Players are giving a set number of strokes based on their handicap. Wherever your ball ends on your final stroke, you will place a tombstone in the ground with your name. Whoever’s tombstone is furthest on the course wins. Tombstone Tournament will be a 2-person shamble format, but winners will be individual. Once your partner is out of the tournament, you no longer have the option to use their drive.
