Scratch Series: Stroke Play #1 & Season Long Match Play Qualifier

Boulder Creek Golf Club   REGISTRATION Opens: Thursday, April 20, 7:00 a.m. Closes:Thursday, May 4, 11:59 p.m.   Waiting List In the case of the event being maxed out, any spots opened as a result of cancellations will be automatically filled with the next available player(s) on the waitlist (ordered by waitlist registration time). There will be no charge until players/teams are moved from the waitlist to the confirmed tournament roster in our system.   ENTRY FEE Option #1 - $115: Entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, & gift certificates. Choose this option if you just want to play in the Stroke Play tournament.   Option #2 - $155: Entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, gift certificates AND season long match play fee. Choose this option if you would like to play in the Stroke Play tournament and attempt to qualify for Season Long Match Play.   NOTE: Teams registering for Option #2 are opting in to ATTEMPT to qualify for season long match play.   POLICIES  NOGA Hard Card Match Play Policy Match Play Brackets   REFUND POLICY Players will have up to 3 days (72 hours) AFTER the registration closing date to request a refund and will be subject to a $10.00 administrative fee, regardless of reason. No refund will be processed for a withdrawal notification that is received after 3 days (72 hours) after the registration closing date.   ELIGIBILITY Entries are open to any amateur golfer, male or female, holding an active NOGA/GHIN Handicap Index® at the time of registration and competition from an authorized NOGA member club. Entries are subject to the approval or rejection, at any time, by the NOGA tournament committee at its discretion. Players must be 19 years of age on or before the date of competition. Refer to NOGA Hard Card & Tournament Policies. CLICK HERE to see if your Club is listed.   HANDICAP INDEX LIMIT 5.4 or lower for ALL Scratch Series tournaments.   SCHEDULE OF EVENTS Thursday, May 11th, 2023   - The practice area will open one hour before the first tee time. - Starting times will begin at 9:00 a.m. off #1 tee. - Please arrive at the first tee 10 minutes before your tee time ready to play. - Lunch will not be provided. Players can purchase food and drink at the halfway house.   FORMAT An individual stroke play competition, in which each player competes against all other players in the division. Play is governed by the USGA Rules of Golf and its decisions, by the NOGA Hard Card and the terms of competition. Rule 1.3B states that players are responsible for applying the rules to themselves.   SEASON LONG MATCH PLAY After the Stroke Play Qualifier is complete, the top 32 players from each division (Open, Senior, & Super Senior) who registered for Option #2 will be seeded into brackets by gross score and will play matches against the other qualifiers within the division throughout the season. Each Stroke Play match is played at gross. No handicaps will be applied.    SEASON LONG MATCH PLAY DEADLINES All matches MUST be played before the dates below.   Round of 32: Sunday, June 4 Round of 16: Sunday, June 25 Quarterifnals: Sunday, July 16 Semifinals: Sunday, August 6 Finals: Sunday, August 27   FIELD SIZE 200 Players If the event is full, players can still register and be placed on the Waiting List. Players will NOT be charged until they have been moved from the Waiting List to the Tournament Roster.   HANDICAP INDEX 5.4 or lower   DIVISIONS   Open Division: Must be 19 years of age or older and have a Handicap Index of 5.4 or lower.   Senior Division: Must have a Handicap Index of 5.4 or lower. To compete in the Senior Division, players must be between 55 years of age on or before the date of the competition.   Super Senior Division: Must have a Handicap Index of 5.4 or lower. To compete in the Super Senior Division, players must be 65 years of age on or before the date of the competition.   Yardages Open Men: 6,800 Yards Senior Men: 6,400 Yards Super Senior Men: 6,000 Yards Open Women: 5,700 Yards Senior Women: 5,300 Yards   PAIRINGS & REQUESTS Pairings will be posted to NOGA.org and sent to players after registration closes. Groups with players all from the same club will not be permitted to keep the competition fair.   STARTING TIMES Begin at 9:00 a.m. off #1   GIFT CERTIFICATES During registration, players will choose the club/facility they wish to have gift certificate winnings sent to. Please allow 2-3 weeks after the event for gift certificate winnings to arrive at the chosen club/facility.   TIES In the event that there is a tie, NOGA will retain the tie, unless otherwise noted in the specific tournaments terms of competition.   PLAYER OF THE YEAR Points will be awarded for the NOGA Player of the Year award.
