Six sectional qualifiers prior to the championship. Eligibility: Must be (1) a male resident of the state of Ohio, or meet other residency requirements listed in the following information, and have a WHS Index of 5.6 or less. Fee: $190 Member fee. $250 Non-member fee. For 2022 Tournament Results click HERE   Entry Procedure Contestants, including exempt players, shall apply online at OHIOGOLF.org. Late or incomplete applications not accepted. No telephone or fax entries. All entries shall be deemed by invitation and are subject to OGA Board acceptance. Format Championship field size is 144 players Practice Round – Monday, July 10, 2023 An online tee sheet will be emailed to players following the last qualifier. Players will be able to book their own practice round tee time and group Round 1 (18 Holes) – Tuesday, July 11, 2023 Round 2 (18 Holes) – Wednesday, July 12, 2023 Field cut to low 60 and ties Round 3 (18 Holes) – Thursday, July 13, 2023 Field cut to low 40 and ties Round 4 (18 Holes) – Friday, July 14, 2023 Low 20 are exempt for 2024 Ohio Amateur at Sylvania CC Sectional Qualifiers Contestants that are not exempt, may compete at one qualifier Registration All qualifiers and exempt players are required to register at Canterbury GC on Monday, July 10, 2023. Players may call the OGA to pre-register. If a player fails to register, their spot may be given to an alternate Eligibility Must be (1) a resident of Ohio of the state of Ohio or in the case of a minor, their parent/legal guardian must be a resident, attending a college or university in Ohio, active military based in Ohio. (2) Determined by exemptions listed elsewhere in this application; or (3) Non members of OGA clubs may enter using entry form. All entrants must have a 5.6 WHS handicap index or better. In order to pay the member fee, one member of the team must have an active WHS Handicap Index at an OGA member club A resident is defined as meeting four (4) of the nine (9). 1. Ownership or leasing of Ohio residence 2. Proof of payment of utilities at property for which residency is being claimed 3.Ohio homestead exemption declared on residence 4. Place of employment in Ohio 5.Ohio Driver’s License 6.Ohio Vehicle registration 7. Ohio address listed on federal income tax return filed by player 8. Has a WHS handicap at a golf club in Ohio. 9. Voter registration in Ohio Verify OGA member clubs HERE   Fee $190 Member fee. $250 Non-member fee. Practice round, range use, cart fees, and lunches included for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday No refunds after the deadline unless submitted with a medical excuse All refunds are subject to a $15 service fee Caddies A player must not have another player who has or will compete in the same round as his or her caddie during the round. Penalty for breach of Local Rules: The player gets the general penalty for each hole during which he or she is helped by such a caddie. If the breach happens or continues. Between two holes, the player gets the general penalty for the next hole. Modern Local Rule 8H Shoes Players may not wear the following shoes: Traditional spikes—that is, spikes having single or multiple points designed to penetrate deeply into the surface of the ground (regardless of whether made of metal, ceramic, plastic or other materials Spikes of any design that are entirely or partially made of metal, if such metal may come in contact with the course penalty for breach of this Local Rules: See Rule 4.3.
