Follow the portal page/emails to view them. Step 4: No need to check-in at the shop if you have a member wallet on file. Grab a golf cart, partner up, warm-up, and head straight to the tee. Step 5: Turn in your scorecards to the Golf Shop following play and adjourn to The Landing for group dining. Required Season Long Player of the Year Points Race (Lakes Cup) Entry Fee: $25 due at check-in of your first event played (one-time) & $7 per event + cart fee + optional $5 skins Points and payouts are awarded to players following each round. Each week, participants receive points for participating and additional points for winning or placing. Plantation Lakes Men’s Golf Association Rules of Play A Valid USGA Handicap must be set up with the club to compete each week. Awards each week are net per USGA recommended handicap allowances. Each player may select a tee of their choice to play for the season, the tee can be changed up to one time per season. Pairings are made by blind draw, and are optimized for most diversity based on previous round pairings and balance total indexes in each tee time. Requests for early/late tee times will be accommodated to the best of our abilities within the aforementioned pairings terms. The required season-long player of the year points race (Lakes Cup) is a one-time membership fee of $25 due at check-in of your first league day played. Weekly entry fee (pays out each Wednesday in Golf Shop credit) $7 per event + $24 cart fee. Depending on format, optional net skins at 50% handicap are occasionally offered. A net birdie or better qualifies for a skin (must birdie a hole that no other players birdie). Points and payouts are awarded to players following each round (see allocation table below). In October, points distributions are doubled. Blind Draws do not share in purse and points. 5 participation points are awarded to players who complete 18-holes. The purse and points for a pair/group are fully allocated even if the pair or pairing group is missing players. THE LAKES CUP Plantation Lakes Men’s Association Playoffs Much like the FedEx Cup on the PGA Tour, the top-ranked players at the end of the season compete for payouts based on points. The player with the most points upon completion of the final round will be presented the Lakes Cup in addition to credit book winnings from the Player of the Year purse. Playoffs for the Plantation Lakes Men’s Association will commence in October for three consecutive weeks. Registration will be individual on all three weeks with pairings made based on player of the year points rankings (those with the most points are paired up together). Players will earn two times the amount of Lakes Cup player of the year points. In the event of a final-round tie, the player with the lowest total of the last 9, 6, 3, 1 hole(s) will break ties (USGA method). A 3-hole aggregate (total net score) playoff will take place following the final round in the event of an overall tie for 1st place in the Player of the Year Points Race (overall points only). The player with the most P.O.Y. points will be awarded the 2025 Lakes Cup Trophy following the final league play date. The P.O.Y Purse will be distributed in full to Members accounts following play based on the payout table below. Ties in points for the remaining payouts will be determined by the USGA stroke play card-off method based on the final round. Examples of unplayable conditions include fairways and/or greens with standing water and/or are not draining, imminent vs. forecasted weather, etc. League Chairperson's Primary Responsibilities 1. Member Liaison & Feedback Channel Act as a trusted representative of league members. Collect, clarify, and convey member feedback, concerns, and suggestions to the Golf Professional Staff. Help ensure members understand league policies, standards, and expectations. 2. Advisory Support to Golf Professionals Meet periodically with the Head Golf Professional and/or league coordinators to discuss league improvements, player concerns, and upcoming initiatives. Offer insight on league culture, participation trends, and member sentiment. Support the professional staff’s decisions by reinforcing consistent communication and expectations. 3. Standards & Governance Uphold the association’s rules, traditions, and playing standards. Encourage adherence to handicapping policies and collaborate with the Handicap Committee when needed. Assist in reviewing league procedures or formats when updates or clarifications are warranted. 4. Grievance Review & Resolution Serve as a first point of contact for members who have concerns or complaints. Help evaluate issues objectively and provide guidance toward appropriate resolution channels. 5. Communication & Collaboration Help ensure transparency between the Association leadership and the golf staff. Advocate for all club leagues and events, and promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive league environment. Overall Purpose To represent the membership, support the golf professionals, promote consistency and fairness, and help maintain a high-quality experience for all participants—without operating the league or assuming staff responsibilities.
