      2026 Bob O’Brien Sr Wednesday League   Welcome or welcome back to the 2026 Bob O’Brien Sr Wednesday League.  For any of the new players, the format will be better ball of partners (two person team match play).   We will have two divisions of 12 two person teams.  The 24 teams will be divided up evenly according to what time they would like to play.  The EARLY Divisoin NEEDS to fill up…for this league to succeed! We have more than enough players that are still working and need to play late.  Here are the divisions: The Don Jacobson Division will play between 10:30am and 11:20pm. (11:30 will be used for subs) The Jim “Gig” Froio Division will play between 2:40pm and 3:30pm. (2:30 will be used for subs) You MUST Fit Your Matches Within THESE Designated Tee Times   You Contact Your Opponents And AGREE On A Time…..Then, CALL The Golf Shop To Book An Actual Time.   You will play teams within your division for 14 weeks and all teams will move onto the playoffs…according to where you fall within the standings.   There will be weekly cash payouts for Closest To The Pins and Gross & Net Skins.   When it comes to the playoffs, within each division we will a 12 team single elimination match play bracket.  We will also have a consolation bracket, so if your team loses once…you still have a chance to win something.   We will have playoff weeks to see who is the champion of the Bob O’Brien Sr Wednesday League.  That final week we will have our final match, our consolation final match and we will also have a better ball challenge winner…followed by dinner in the clubhouse.  There will be payouts for overall champions and runners ups, consolation champions and better ball challenge winners.   Sign Up TODAY…www.golfgenius.com/ggid/pjgkce/register with both players full names (email addresses, cell # & GHIN’s) to officially sign up.   League Dues - (dues must be paid before you play!!) Format - Two Person Team Match Play (80% Handicaps) **Then your handicap will be adjusted depending on what tee you play) Point Breakdown For Each Match: Win A Hole = 1 Point Lose A Hole = 0 Points Halve A Hole = 0 Points RESULTS: Weekly results & standings will be emailed out ***EACH PLAYER MUST DECLARE WHAT TEE YOU WILL BE PLAYING (Blue, White or Gold)*** Tees: All players under 70 will play from the Blue Tees “Must Play Blue Tees on Par 3’s” Ages 70 - 74 can play from the White Tees “Must Play White Tees on Par 3’s” Ages 75 + can play from the Gold Tees “Must Play Gold Tees on Par 3’s” Once you choose a tee you must use that tee for the duration of the season. MUST: Repair your ball mark and two others on each green. Please: replace any divots or fill in with sand & seed combination. Pace Of Play: Keep Up With The Group In Front Of You. We REQUIRE ALL TEAMS TO FINISH WITHIN 2 HOURS Improved Lie Rule: You will permitted to take a preferred lie only if the ball is in your own fairway. Otherwise the ball must be played as it lies. Gimme: No putts for birdie or better may be conceded. Only bogey and higher putts of under 3 feet may be conceded. The MAXIMUM SCORE: on any hole is 3 over par. A player MUST pick up on any hole and take a 3 over par score, unless he is in contention to win the hole in which case it will be played out. THE MATCH: Each team must have at least one member from the team present to be a LEGAL TEAM. HANDICAPS & ADJUSTED SCORE: The golf league requires that each player have a GHIN handicap.  The league will post all scores…players should NOT post their own scores because they will create a duplicate score. TIES (ONLY in the playoffs) will be resolved using a card-off system. (beginning at the hardest hole)  The Overall Championship will be decided by a sudden death playoff on the 9th Par 3 hole. ABSENCE:  If your partner does not show up there will not be a point deduction. If you use a league approved alternate his score counts. If you do not have a league approved alternate then you play your own ball only, both in the regular season and the playoffs. In other words it will be two against one. FORFEITS/BYES:  In the event your opposition does not show, your team will receive a Win and 5 points as long as one member of your team plays. Likewise, your team will receive a Win and 5 points if there is no other scheduled team (bye) to play, as long as one member of your team plays.   BOTH TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TURNING IN THEIR TALLIED SCORE CARDS EACH WEEK.
