An active USGA Handicap Index at Plantation Lakes is required to compete in any league round. How to Join & Compete! Step 1: Register for the League on Golf Genius Step 2: Register for Round 1 (or any later rounds) separately. Round 1 registration is open. Step 3: Round 1 pairings are sent 1-week in advance. Follow the portal page/emails to view them. Step 4: No need to check-in at the shop if you have a member wallet on file. Grab a golf cart, partner up, warm-up, and head straight to the tee. Step 5: Turn in your scorecards to the Golf Shop following play and adjourn to The Landing for group dining. Thursday Night Team 9-Hole League The season-long 9-hole matches will be played at on Thursdays beginning April 30 and ending October 8th. It will be a 5 pm Shotgun start. Starting time will adjust earlier as the season goes on and days get shorter. Payouts will be to top 3 teams in each division. (Based on a full field) All teams must participate in mobile scoring. To mobile score in golf genius you do need the app. However you do not need to create an account Then you will see the option to enter your GGID number on your scorecard. Cart fee of $14 each week plus $10 daily game fee to be paid out at end of play each week. Walking is not permitted in league play. 9-holes, multiple match play formats (Season long) 1 point per hole, 1 point for 9-hole match (10 possible points) Cumulative points each week Flights will Consist of an even number of teams in order to eliminate the need for any rounds vs par. Teams will play against a different opponent within your flight each week based on full field There will be two double points weeks. One at the midway point and one the last week of the regular season. Playoffs All teams will make the playoffs. Regular Season point standings will determine the seedings in the playoffs The last 3 weeks of the season will be the quarter finals, semi finals and finals respectively. Substitutions Substitutions are allowed if you are unable to play. Each team may have a substitute a maximum of four times throughout the season. If there is an injury one may find a permanent replacement for the rest of the season or have an extended number of substitutions approved by the committee. There are no substitutions in the playoffs rounds. (Unless replaced by a sub due to injury) Matches played against less than two players If you are playing a match against one player, the match will be played as normal but will be two against one. If both players are unable to play, they may get two subs to fill in for them. However, the maximum number of points the subs can earn is 6 points. The opposing team would earn a minimum of 4 points unless they have earned more points in the match. Worst they can do is lose 4-6 if playing against a team made up of just substitutes. Each week we will have a different money game such as CTP’s, Skins, Stableford, Pullies, etc. Each person will be charged $10 and the daily winnings will be paid out once results are official, which is typically the next morning. Winnings will be credited to your credit book good toward merchandise in the golf shop. Entry fee for the season long league will be $100 per team. This will include money for the payouts for the winners and end of season dinner at The Landing on the last day of league play. Eligibility You must have an established USGA handicap index with Planation Lakes. Must be a Member of Plantation Lakes Golf & Country Club. Each member of the Thursday League MUST post scores to GHIN for all rounds played outside of the league. We will post scores for all postable formats played during the league rounds. Examples of unplayable conditions include fairways and/or greens with standing water and/or are not draining, imminent vs. forecasted weather, etc. League Chairperson's Primary Responsibilities 1. Member Liaison & Feedback Channel Act as a trusted representative of league members. Collect, clarify, and convey member feedback, concerns, and suggestions to the Golf Professional Staff. Help ensure members understand league policies, standards, and expectations. 2. Advisory Support to Golf Professionals Meet periodically with the Head Golf Professional and/or league coordinators to discuss league improvements, player concerns, and upcoming initiatives. Offer insight on league culture, participation trends, and member sentiment. Support the professional staff’s decisions by reinforcing consistent communication and expectations. 3. Standards & Governance Uphold the association’s rules, traditions, and playing standards. Encourage adherence to handicapping policies and collaborate with the Handicap Committee when needed. Assist in reviewing league procedures or formats when updates or clarifications are warranted. 4. Grievance Review & Resolution Serve as a first point of contact for members who have concerns or complaints. Help evaluate issues objectively and provide guidance toward appropriate resolution channels. 5. Communication & Collaboration Help ensure transparency between the Association leadership and the golf staff. Advocate for all club leagues and events, and promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive league environment. Overall Purpose To represent the membership, support the golf professionals, promote consistency and fairness, and help maintain a high-quality experience for all participants—without operating the league or assuming staff responsibilities.
